Fostex FF225WK 20cm Cone Bass Reflex Full Range Speaker Unit

[Product Description]

Two-layer pulp paper is a proprietary technology where cone paper is made in two stages, forming a single cone paper with a base layer and a surface layer. In the FF-wk series, long-fiber (low beating degree) wood pulp is used for the base layer to achieve high rigidity through a high structure and maintain moderate internal losses. The surface layer is blended with short-fiber (high beating degree) kenaf and binchotan charcoal powder to increase the propagation speed on the cone surface. Additionally, the edge shape is rolled up to enable high stroke, and a polyurethane foam with a special blend of polycarbonate-based material, which has high loss and high Young's modulus, is used. *The color tone of the cone surface in the FF-WK series is due to binchotan charcoal and does not use dye. Therefore, the color tone of the cone surface varies individually. A center cap molded into a ridged dome shape from aluminum alloy is adopted. It disperses and weakens strong resonance at specific frequencies, reducing high-frequency coloration. It also extends the high-frequency reproduction range by directly connecting to the voice coil bobbin. A three-point bonding method is used, where the cone paper, damper, and voice coil are bonded at the same point. This enhances the strength of the cone neck, improving high-frequency characteristics. Additionally, a pocket-shaped structure is provided in the damper neck to enable three-point bonding while using a lead wire to the voice coil. To minimize sound quality changes, gold-plated faston 205 type terminals are used for the input terminals. (The gold plating may appear as a slightly dull gold color, which is normal.)
