Greenman Woodwick Soy Candle – Woodland Zest

There is something immediately settling about a candle that crackles. The Woodland Zest burns with a soft, woody snap from its natural woodwick, while a clean citrus scent opens in the room, bright at first, then easing into something greener and cooler, like stepping into a shaded garden after rain.

Scent and atmosphere

The opening is citrus, fresh and clear, without the sharpness of cleaning products or the sweetness of synthetic lemon.

As the wax warms, the scent shifts: the citrus softens and a cooler, woodland note comes through, giving the room a calm, outdoor quality.

The woodwick adds its own layer, a faint, dry crackle that makes the candle feel more like a small fire than a flame in a jar.

The overall effect is light rather than heavy; this is a daytime or early-evening scent, not a rich evening one.

It suits a home office, a kitchen, or a sitting room where you want freshness without sweetness.

Soy wax and woodwick

The candle is made with soy wax, which holds fragrance evenly through the life of the candle. Soy is a renewable crop-based material, though it is worth knowing it is not zero-impact, it is simply a cleaner choice than petroleum-derived wax. The woodwick is a thin slice of natural wood; it needs a slightly wider melt pool to perform well, so allow the wax to liquefy fully to the edges on the first burn before extinguishing it.

The vessel

It comes in a glass jar with a cork lid, which keeps dust off the wax between burns and looks considered on a shelf. The jar is sturdy enough to repurpose once the candle is finished, a small vessel for cotton buds, matches, or a few dried botanicals.

Size and burn care

The candle weighs 150 g. Before each burn, trim the woodwick to around 5 mm, a short wick gives a cleaner flame and prevents excess smoke. Stand it on a heat-proof surface, keep it away from draughts and anything flammable, and never leave it burning unattended. Extinguish it before the wax drops below about 1 cm from the b…
